Creative direction, design and communication strategy for Graphic Design Festival Scotland 2018.
The work was featured, reviewed and celebrated across the creative industry, leading to a sold-out festival with 24,000+ people attending.

Combining the visual language of children’s birthday parties with more mature and refined aesthetic elements we aimed to create an identity which is multi-layered and multi-dimensional.
Illustrations of birthday badges, jelly, party horns, paper hats, streamers and more formed the basis of the identity’s artwork.
The programme guide was designed like a birthday card, the festival was adorned with balloons, guests received ‘party’ totebags, streamers were popped to celebrate the festival’s launch and a balloon artist even sculpted balloon artwork in the identity’s colour palette for those attending.
The website's purpose was to promote the festival, offer complete information on the programme, sell tickets, offer on-going news updates and house the archive of past projects and events from the festival.
